Friday sermon : Rasululloh SAW is a very good example of empathy.

Friday sermon material

People are often assessed by subjective parameters and see other people with blinders on, so often a misunderstanding and did not act prudently and wisely in menyikap an event. This can happen because of lack of awareness of empathy in understanding the weaknesses, mistakes, shortcomings, ignorance and naivete of others.

Rasululloh SAW itself gives a very good example of empathy.

In one time there are Bedouins suddenly urinating in the mosque. This makes the friends react and provoked emotion. Is he hooked his emotions come and scold the Bedouin? Apparently not!

He let the Bedouins settle his business, then he asked his friend to clean unclean induced the Bedouin.  After cleaning, Rasululloh SAW explaining to friends that Bedouin Arabs did not know about the ban on urinating in the mosque, so it does not need to be addressed with superfluous emotions.

It is precisely this act of SAW Rasululloh avoid 3 losses: First, the Bedouin piqued their needs and secondly, the Bedouin impaired urinary tract smoothness, and the third area extends unclean because of the Bedouin panic when complete urine.

Currently, such an attitude Rasululloh SAW very hard to find, if not practically impossible.  Leaders sometimes even provoke regular people who are not too deep understanding / less knowledgeable. As a result of damage occurred in mana2 just because a trivial problem and there is no desire to empathize.

ALLOH Almighty himself said, "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and those with him are hard against the unbelievers, but filial their peers," (Al-Fath (48): 29).

That's why so Rasululloh SAW musuh2nya be loved and respected his people. He was so forward affectionate nature, facilitate his people in carrying out religious Shari'a, preferring to be gentle but if necessary can be assertive. He could get angry but more forgiving attitude and can be felt.

Even Rasululloh Muhammad had commanded the Abu Musa and Mu'adh when they want to Yemen to preach, "and do not announce to scare you.
As inheritors of the Prophet, the preachers, preachers, cleric, cleric, even a religious teacher should also provide facilities for Muslims to perform religious orders as well as possible. Surely, they must be equipped with sufficient knowledge in addition to also wisdom in the act. Thus it would appear tolerant attitudes so that there will always be many solutions can reply dijadikann choices when they encounter problems.

Rasululloh SAW also said: "Be ye be gentle and do not be rude.  Surely not the meek attitude exists in something unless decorate, nor did he escape from anything except a mess. "(Muslim)

Al-Quran – The Greatest Miracle of Phropet Muhammad SAW

Dear Friday Congregation,
Let us to have Taqwa to Allah s.w.t., the Almighty Lord of the universe. Let us to express our gratitude to Him who has given us yet another chance to breathe in the beautiful air of Ramadhan, a month which disciplines us in our speech and our actions, a month which promises plenty of rewards, it is a month in which we were handed the greatest miracle of Nabi Muhammad saw, the holy Quran .

In general, the Quran, become the miracle whether in its language, the content or stylistics, is a miracle and guide for us to make a life which leads to the right path.  Allah s.w.t. says in surah Al-Israa verse 9:
The means: “Verily, this Quran gives guidance to the right path (Islam).”

My dear brothers,
Please to know that it was the Quran that sparked the faith of man who initially opposed Islam vehemently. He is none other than Sayyidina Umar Ibnu Al-Khattab r.a.

While elaborating on verses 41-43 from surah Al-Haqqah, Imam Ahmad Ibnu Hanbal narrated in Imam Ibnu Katsir’s book that Sayyidina Umar Ibnu Khattab r.a. said: “Before I embraced Islam, I had left my house one day in search of the Prophet s.a.w. only to find that he had left for the mosque. So I stood behind him as he prayed, and he started to recite surah Al-Haqqah in prayer and I was touched by the words which were being recited. Then I said, “By Allah, this is poetry just like how the people of Quraisy described it. The Prophet s.a.w. replied by reciting the following verse:

The means: “And the Quran is not from the words of a poet, (as some of you have alleged it to be). (Unfortunately) so few among you are truly believers.” verse 41 of Surah Al-Haaqqah.

So I (Sayyidina Umar Ibnu Khattab) said: “(These are the words of) a soothsayer! ” Then the Prophet s.a.w. recited the following:

The means: “And they are not the words of a soothsayer (as some of you may have alleged it to be). (Sadly) little it is that you remember. (The Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe.”  verse 42-43 of  Surah Al-Haaqqah.

My dear brothers
Observe please, how the Quran’s miracle had successfully managed the hearts to soften even of those who had strongly opposed guidance and Islam and guide them towards faith.

Allah s.w.t. says in verse 88 of surah Al-Israa’:
The  means: Say: "If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another."

My dear brothers,
Another form of the Quran’s miracle is as is known as ‘Al-Nasikh Wal Mansukh. It is the abrogation of a particular ruling or command with another ruling or command which is better. Al-Nasikh Wal Mansukh’ refers to a particular ruling which was removed and abrogated, or replaced with another ruling by Allah s.w.t.. Allah s.w.t. says in verse 106 of surah Al-Baqarah:
The means: Whatever Verse (revelation) We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is able to do all things?

A well-known Sheikh Mutawalli Sya’rawi on tafsir scholar, while explaining this verse, he said, that it did not mean that in thet verse  were any errors in the earlier messages before the prophethood of our Prophet s.a.w. Instead, it implies that the message was revealed then, was most suited for the community which lived in that era and it is better.

My dear brothers,

The Prophet Rasulullah s.a.w. said: “Compete with each other in the attainment of anything which might be of benefit to yourself, and seek Allah’s assistance and never feel weak.” Hadits was narrated by Muslim.

Another example of a ritual practice is reading or tadarrus of the Quran Al Kariim. In the holy month of Ramadan, we after every tarawih prayers practice tadarrus. In this time we increase our efforts by reciting the Quran on any other opportunity and we have during the day and night or by studying to understand the meanings of the verses as we read them.

These are the attributes of a progressive, dynamic and resilient religion. One which is capable of solving problems and issues whenever and wherever need arises. And in this lessons we can gain from the meanings of ‘Al-Nasikh Wal Mansukh.’

It is not just a part of the syariah’s history. But, it is much more than merely the abrogation of a particular item. It enjoins man to constantly ponder upon how to most effectively lead a better religious life and yet we may still more advance and succeed, by abiding to all man the core principles of that religion.

My dear brothers,
Before I end this sermon, I will to summaried the important lessons from this sermon.

First – The need for us to internalise the really meanings of the Quran well. In doing so, we hope that our God Allah s.w.t. will continue to grant us guidance to the right path. This is so that it may guide us with The Holy Quran in going through the challenges of everyday life.

Second – Every change in Holy Quran that happens around us invites us to examine it. From this positive point, it encourages us to evaluate our priorities actually. We can to be wise in choosing our priorities in order to enable us to make better personal changes accordingly reap its benefits.

May all of future and the past good deeds we perform will bring about more really positive rewards and outcome into our lives. And may it also invoke Allah’s in the pleasure and mercy to us all. Ameeen.
